Split a large page across several printable sheets
No - it cuts an already-large page into printable tiles. Every enlargement factor a poster tool could pick either distorts or crops something, so we do not guess: run Resize PDF first if you want the poster larger, then posterize.
Neighbouring tiles share that much of the image, so you have an overlapping strip to line up and tape. 5 mm is a good default; increase it if your printer trims the edges.
