Yes, and that is the point. A scanned blank side is a full-page image of paper, not an empty page, so we render each page and measure how much ink is actually on it rather than only checking whether the page has content.
How much ink still counts as blank. "Strict" only removes genuinely empty pages. "Balanced" catches ordinary scanned blanks with their paper texture and dust. "Loose" also removes pages with a faint mark or two - useful for poor scans, riskier for real content.
The result always names every page it removed, so you can check. Your original file is untouched on your device, so if the call was wrong, re-run at a stricter setting. A page that could not be rendered is never removed.
